We feel God’s constant protection

Our names are Geo and Simona Dejeu. My husband Geo has been here from the beginning of CF as housefather and I, Simona came to Caminul Felix in 2000 when I got married to Geo, who had been widowed 11 years before.

It is beautiful and also hard to have a family of 15 children. Maybe it is beautiful because it is hard. Each day we have both joys and frustrations – like any other normal family. Actually our motto is “a normal life”. Sometimes it is very hard to live a normal life. And sometimes we succeed not because of special qualities but because God is with us. We feel this thing in our family. Without God we are nothing. And if we succeed it is because God is in control, and helping us.

The beauty of living in a family with 15 children is to live in a continuous challenge. You, as an adult, are being challenged, to supervise and give a good direction to the evolution of the children for a normal life in society. You can not turn away form the personal evolution – the responsibility is great because you are a model for the children in the family. But the rewards are big also – immediate rewards when you see healthy and happy kids around you -  and the satisfaction which we wait for until later on when the children are bigger, we will see accomplished children, people you can count on in society, and hopefully good Christians.

Beyond everything we feel God’s constant protection in our family and we are grateful for that. Besides the activity at Caminul Felix as a mother I also work in a state organization, and Geo has activities in the State Education System. In a family like ours there is a need of prayerful support for both the young people to find their lives and us as parents to model both faith in God and family, and a functional life in society. We have a wonderful little 4 year old daughter that blesses us immensely, and we thank God for her, and for all our children.

In a couple of years, we will finish our time as house parent’s at Caminul Felix, because the kids will all have gone into society. We will all start a new season in our lives, and we know it will be challenging too. We are trusting God’s care for our children and ourselves. Until then we are one of the 16 families at Caminul Felix, and that is a blessing.”
